Donghuang Taiyi returns as a remnant soul and casually brings back two disciples from the Demonic Path world: his hot-tempered junior, Jiang Cheng, and his cunning senior, Wei Wuxian!

Mr. Wei focuses on “ghost arts special effects,” striving to make the tribulations realistic and environmentally friendly;
The masterminds Taiyi and the Tongtian Cult Leader raise their cups: “Fellow Daoist, sit back and enjoy a grand spectacle of Buddhism shedding tears along the westward journey.”
The pilgrimage team is left crying on the road: What's with the monsters these days? You can't kill them, you can't outrun them, and they're damn good actors!
When Mount Ling is finally within sight, Buddhism is astonished to discover that although their tribulation is complete, their coffers have nearly been emptied...
