Synopsis of The Chen Family’s Curse
Since the 1990s, the Chen family, which has practiced feng shui for generations, has been plagued by an evil curse. Chen Tianhao’s grandfather, Chen Shouyi, dies mysteriously, the family’s feng shui hall is stained with blood, and an ancestral copper compass and half a jade pendant become the only clues. To uncover the truth behind his grandfather’s death and break the family curse, Chen Tianhao sets out with ancient books of esoteric arts, unaware that his journey will draw him into a sinister conspiracy spanning decades.
He battles the Iron Corpse King at Black Wind Ridge, confronts a shadowy evil in an abandoned video rental shop, and encounters a red-clad vengeful ghost in a condemned house at the foot of Maoshan. Each time he narrowly escapes death, he comes one step closer to unraveling the secret of the “Yin-Gathering Formation.” A mysterious figure in a black trench coat repeatedly appears to obstruct him, seemingly backed by a vast force that commands all manner of evil. The scattered remnants of his grandfather’s soul, the secrets hidden in the jade pendant the Chen family has guarded for generations, and strange incidents erupting across the country all point to the same truth: the family’s curse has long been bound to the fate of all the evils in the world.
From rural ghost stories to urban legends, from traditional talismans to modern antiques hiding mysterious secrets, Chen Tianhao grows stronger amid the clash between good and evil. He must protect his grandfather’s remaining soul and break the century-old curse, but also stop the spread of dark arts and safeguard the last vestiges of yang energy in the human world.
