"State of Life" is a full-length realistic humanistic epic. It does not take traditional, compact linear narratives and strong plot conflicts as its core, but takes "state" as a slice, and uses extremely delicate brushstrokes to depict a "human world" of contemporary Chinese cities (and the countryside that radiates from them).
