When Clouds Meet the Morning Sun

At Yunhai No. 1 High School, where top students abound, the reserved, rational science student Lin Yun and the quiet, brilliant humanities prodigy Mu Yanghui are like two stars shining in harmony from afar. Each shines in their own right, yet both quietly watch the other.

He hides his pounding heart, arranging “chance” encounters beside the library shelves and catching glimpses of her by the sports field. She suppresses her own fluttering feelings, fishing for news of him in conversations with friends and lingering beneath the stage at the arts festival to watch him give his all. Academic pressure, shy personalities, and occasional misunderstandings make their mutual crush like a sugar-coated lime: sweet, but with a hint of sourness and distance.

A brief exchange of glances at the sports meet, silent companionship in the library, complementary support in their studies, a friend’s timely matchmaking, and the occasional little “rival” all gradually bring them closer. Then the countdown to the college entrance exam begins. The emotion of their coming-of-age ceremony and the fervor of the hundred-day pledge rally finally give them the courage to take a chance at the end of their youth.

This is a coming-of-age story about high school: secrets kept deep in their hearts and passionate days spent striving side by side. In the end, two stars drawn to each other overcome hesitation and fear, finding their way to each other in the best years of their lives.

This is a story that never began.
