On the night the game Epoch Rift launched, Tang Mo should have been roaming the Huaxia server with his friends. Instead, a bizarre System error dumped him onto the European server, where he was left all alone.
Luckily, he drew the divine artifact [Banner of the Netherworld] from the start, but it also made him the target of a citywide manhunt.
Fleeing, turning the tables, developing in secret... Then he accidentally uncovered the truth behind the game: it was a farm where extraterrestrial gods harvested humanity's faith!
He founded the Netherworld Cult and publicly rampaged across the world using the methods of an evil cultivator. He set up Netherworld formations and harvested souls like grass, imprisoning them forever in his banner to wail day and night!
In truth, he was using the divine artifact to purify the souls the gods had corrupted.
When the gods sensed the threat and unleashed divine punishment, Tang Mo pointed his banner at the sky. He would use this most sinister of methods to accomplish the feat of slaying the gods!
