Winter Has Come, but Love Is Still Late

Lu Xianye lost a bet to his newly adopted god-sister.

The punishment was to stay single for a month.

So he handed me the divorce papers:

"Sign them. We'll only be apart for a month. You have to play along."

I said nothing and obediently wrote my name.

It wasn't long before Lu Xianye lost another bet.

"This time, I have to spend the night with her. We'll just share a blanket and chat, so don't get the wrong idea."

As he spoke, a little square box fell out of his pocket.

He cleared his throat, made an excuse about work, and headed to a hotel instead.

Once he was gone, I looked down and replied to the message I'd just received:

[I'm going abroad in a week. Want to come with me?]

[Sure.]
