The protagonists are Lin Wan (a girl from a design job in Beipiao) and Su Xiao (roommate and best friend). Lin Wan was squeezed into a rental house in Beijing's Fifth Ring Road. The monthly rent took up most of her salary. It was normal to work overtime until late at night. In the small room, only the starlight on the window sill could relieve her fatigue. She and Su Xiao shared a bowl of instant noodles, complained about difficult customers, and changed plans and talked about dreams together under the stars. In the winter without heating, she relied on a hot water bottle to keep warm, but she laughed heartily because of an accidental balcony barbecue. When she failed in the interview, Su Xiao used a wish-making ceremony under the stars to help her regain her courage. The walls of the rental house will peel off, and life is full of trivial matters, but the starlight and the company around her make every day of struggle hide a small amount of luck that is within reach, and allow Lin Wan to slowly become her own light in her wandering.
