Prologue to Death: Terror on the Ferry

An explosion suddenly rocks the Bohai Pearl ferry. The twelve people originally destined to die evacuate ahead of time after Lin Mo, a college student, has a prophetic dream. The disrupted order of death begins hunting the survivors one by one through seemingly ordinary accidents.

Death follows the original order in which the victims would have died in the accident. Each person's death is closely linked to a direct cause of the ferry explosion, such as mechanical failure, a short circuit, or a flammable leak. Each death also leaves behind the previous victim's "death token" as a warning.

Zhou Cheng, an old sailor who survived the ferry disaster, leaves behind a damaged sailing log. It records how survivors of a similar accident ten years earlier were also hunted by death. It mentions that "turning the cause of death against itself" can temporarily avert death, but will hasten the next person's demise.
