In the 31st century AD, in the wasteland after the fall of the Kang Dynasty, Kael, the "time scavenger", has been obsessed with repairing an ancient time and space jumping device throughout his life, eager to escape from the desperate future. However, an out-of-control experiment threw him into a violent time stream - when he opened his eyes again, burning arcs and broken metal arm armor pinned him in the middle of the ruins of the 2012 New York War.
This is the "golden age" that he has only seen in historical fragments, but it is also a battlefield where the Chitauri are raging and the Avengers are bloody. His only reliance is the broken arm armor that can control local time: it can slow down bullets and reverse rust, but it backfires on itself due to instability, and every time it is used, it is like overdrafting life.
He knew the outlines of the future - Thanos's snapping fingers, Hydra's lurking, the iron laws of the Guardians of Time - but the details began to shift the moment he stepped into this era. SHIELD regards him as an alien threat, Hydra covets his time technology, and the even more mysterious Time Enforcer has labeled him a "time criminal."
Survival has become a luxury, and changing the future has become a huge gamble. Leo must struggle between trust and suspicion, and choose between the known and the unknown: should he use his vague "prophet" ability to intervene in history, or should he let the dark future come? When his existence tears apart the timeline, and when his ability becomes a double-edged sword of threat and redemption, this exile from the doomsday will finally understand that instead of escaping from the past, finding a "now" worth protecting may be the only way to fight fate.
