The youngest daughter of General Lu’s household, Lu Xingyao, was famous for settling every problem with her fists instead of her head. There wasn’t a young gentleman in the capital around her age who hadn’t been beaten up by her.
Well, almost none. There was one: Ji Jinglin, the young master of the Ji family, who had grown up alongside her.
“A Yao, did you get into another fight today?” Ji Jinglin asked helplessly as he entered the room, still wearing his outer robe.
Lu Xingyao was busy “battling” with a purse. She darted her eyes around guiltily, too nervous to look at Ji Jinglin, and quietly tried to defend herself. “Husband, you wouldn’t believe me if I said I didn’t, would you?”
“A Yao! Tell me, what was it about this time?” Ji Jinglin sat down on the cushioned bench in the outer room and waited for his wife to explain. He had to get the full story. Otherwise, when word reached his mother-in-law tomorrow, she would probably come over with a stick to teach her another lesson.
“A Lin~” Lu Xingyao set down her needlework and slowly walked over to Ji Jinglin. She opened her palm to reveal the purse she had just embroidered. “It’s for you!”
When Ji Jinglin saw the purse, he was even more concerned by the red marks on her fingertips from the needle and thread, and the many tiny pinpricks that had drawn blood. It felt as though each one had pierced his own heart. His voice softened, and his manner grew gentler. “My dear A Yao, I have enough purses already. Don’t touch a needle and thread again.”
Ji Jinglin lowered his head and gently blew on her fingers, then slowly applied medicine to them. He had already forgotten all about whether she’d been fighting or not.
Watching Ji Jinglin’s tender, earnest expression, Lu Xingyao was grinning from ear to ear inside.
Who on earth said she couldn’t use her head?!!!
I read 53 chapters in one go and I really like it so far! Calm, self-possessed, high-IQ bamboo horse × happy, grudge-minded and delicate green plum complement each other and are a perfect match! The content is mostly daily and short-lived, but there are some big hooks that will make you want to continue reading. The main reason is that the characters of the male and female protagonists are so good, including their families, and they are so protective of their shortcomings that they almost break the courtyard wall and become a family. I just don't know why there are basically no paragraph reviews or book reviews. We can't discuss them together. I hope the author will update it soon! Best wishes!
Looks good, please support me
Childhood sweethearts, childhood sweethearts, growing up together, weathering the storm together. It is a very connotative and nutritious novel. I like it, like it, and I will like it even more if it is updated daily. Hehehehe
