My new work is out! You’re welcome to read it on Tomato Novel. I hope you enjoy it. Your support motivates me to write, and I’ll do my best to tell every story well!
Chen Mo, a Qingnan detective working undercover in the Sea Shark Gang, is attacked. Before his partner Zhao Lei dies, he leaves behind the coded word “fish.” After Chen Mo escapes, his wife and daughter are killed by Brother Dao. A fish-shaped pendant at the scene matches the code. His mentor, Director Zhou, goes missing, and Deputy Director Wang orders Chen Mo suspended. Chen Mo realizes there is a powerful protector inside the police department. Zhang Lan from the provincial bureau arrives to clear her father’s name: the truth behind his “death in the line of duty” while investigating the Sea Shark Gang was covered up. The two join forces to investigate. Using the case files entrusted to him by Director Zhou, Chen Mo tracks down Brother Dao. The account books from Wu Family Village lead them to evidence against Deputy Director Wang’s brother-in-law. After the mole Li Wei comes to his senses, he reveals that Director Zhou is being held in a cold-storage warehouse, exposing Li Jianguo and the other protectors.
The pair infiltrate the Fish Harbor Restaurant to take down mob boss Zhao Kun, and uncover a connection between Zhang Wei, son of Zhang the Black, and the former police chief. After rescuing Director Zhou, they learn that Zhang Wei is plotting to seize gold and launder money overseas. Zhang Wei fakes his suicide and flees to Bangkok, while Li Jianguo obstructs the investigation. Zhang Lan uses her authorization to form a task force, which uncovers gold shaped like fish and an account book documenting bribes.
They travel to Bangkok and locate the former police chief’s hideout, only to be taunted by Zhang Wei. Li Jianguo secretly leaks information. Under Bangkok’s night sky, the final showdown with the fugitive is about to begin. Chen Mo and Zhang Lan have grown as well, and join hands to expose the darkness.
