Story summary
Zhao Chen, a modern military expert, traveled to the late Southern Song Dynasty and became a descendant of a distant branch of the clan. At that time, the Mongolian army besieged Xiangyang, and the Southern Song Dynasty was in danger. Zhao Chen relied on modern knowledge, starting from improving gunpowder, and gradually gained the attention of the court. With the support of Xiangyang defenders Guo Jing and Huang Rong, he wrote "Code for Prospering the Song Dynasty" and put forward advanced concepts such as "the relationship between the army and the people" and "people's war".
Through technological innovation (improving artillery, building warships, reforming medical care) and ideological construction, the military power of the Southern Song Dynasty greatly increased. The defense of Xiangyang became a turning point. New weapons and advanced tactics were combined to defeat the Mongolian army. Zhao Chen teamed up with Yue Lingyun, a descendant of the Yue Family Army, to reorganize the "Xinbeiwei Army" and used Yue Fei's "Connecting Heshuo" strategy to mobilize his hometown rebels to cooperate with the Northern Expedition.
After three stages of strategic implementation (defense-stalemate-counterattack), the Southern Song Dynasty army gradually regained lost ground. In the end, he went straight to Huanglong and saved Jingkang's shame. After unification, they vigorously developed infrastructure, commerce, and technology, creating a peaceful and prosperous era that far surpassed that of the Tang Dynasty. The story runs through five clues: military reform, social construction, ideological enlightenment, chivalry, and emotional growth, showing a magnificent picture of the revival of the Southern Song Dynasty.
