Eclipse Part 1

Introduction to the first part of "Eclipse" In the spring of 1938, the artillery fire of the Battle of Xuzhou tore through the land of southern Shandong, and the literary and art soldier Lu Chen set foot on the battlefield with his easel on his back. Using charcoal as a blade, he captured in his sketchbook the Sichuan Army's iron-blooded defense of Teng County, the cries of Taierzhuang's counterattack, and the sparks of Xuzhou's breakout. On the way back, he came across half a military plaque with "One Two Two, Land" engraved on it - it was a token left by his father who disappeared ten years ago. This awakened him from a "recorder" to a "guardian". From then on, he took up the responsibility of protecting his family and country in the flames of war. On a rainy night in the Shanghai Concession, he and the exiled student Song Qing bonded over a painting of "Eclipse". In the painting, the mother protecting her son under gunfire has a firm look in her eyes, which is a reflection of their shared belief: art should not whitewash suffering, but should carve the pain of war and the warmth of humanity into the soul. A surprise attack by the Japanese military special high school broke the short-term cooperation, and Lu Chen was injured after being broken off. Song Qinghuai went north to Yan'an with the sketch of "Seeing" and half of the military plaque. During the special training, he grew into a special operations captain and formed a "Lightning Team" to develop the skills of sniping and intelligence. In the smoke of gunpowder in the Lunan base area, the two met again. Lu Chen had already led his troops to build up anti-Japanese armed forces, used "encirclement and reinforcements" to uproot Japanese strongholds, and joined forces with the national army to severely inflict heavy losses on the enemy invaders in the Battle of Xiqiangyu. Song Qing led the special operations team to repeatedly perform extraordinary feats, shooting down enemy planes with sniper rifles and blowing up Japanese mustard gas bases. They witnessed the tragedy of the eighty-two martyrs of Liu Laozhuang, inherited the legacy of General Peng Xuefeng, and allowed the spirit of "Seeing" to take root in the blood and fire of the anti-"Qingxiang" and Cheqiao battles - in the painting, the soldiers and civilians charged together, and outside the painting, they persevered in the hail of bullets.
