During the Battle of the Somme in 1916, French corporal Jean Le Maire gradually grew into the core of the team from a "survivor" who was initially afraid of war and only wanted to protect himself. From resisting the German chlorine-phosgene hybrid bomb attack, cooperating with the British Mark I tanks to break through the defense line, to night attacks on the German chemical ammunition depot, and launching life-or-death duels with the ace sniper "White Death", Jean Le Maire combined Chen Hao's "wretched flow" tactics with his own battlefield intuition in countless actual combats, leading the team to escape from death every time.
