After My Archrival Got Depression, She Tricked Me into Loving Her

(Alternate setting, not purely a campus story, male characters, yandere, ambition, the depression is fake, childhood friends, two powerful female leads, secret identities)

Bai Wanxu, the apple of the Bai family's eye, had been hailed as a genius girl since childhood. Before she met Gu Qianyun, she always thought no one could compare to her. Then Su Wan brought her to Gu Qianyun. The two met and disliked each other at first, but after spending a rainy night together, a peculiar affection took root in their hearts.

After that, they were inseparable and told each other everything. Before they even understood love, they had already privately pledged themselves to each other for life.

But their happiness didn't last long. Their families discovered their relationship.

Their traditional families refused to accept their love and forcibly separated them, sending them to a conversion facility.

After leaving the facility, their relationship grew strained, and before long, people were calling them sworn enemies.

Gu Qianyun didn't mind the label. In fact, she was delighted. Being rivals meant they were evenly matched, and perfect for each other.

They kept up the flirtatious push and pull under the guise of being enemies, until the Bai family started introducing young men to Bai Wanxu. It was obvious they were looking for a future husband for her.

Only then did Gu Qianyun begin to panic. How could that be? Her older sister could only be hers. She decided to take a chance, using the one approach Bai Wanxu could never resist: confessing her feelings while sounding out Bai Wanxu's.

“I've always loved you, and that has never changed. But I don't have the power to protect you, so I've had to pretend. Will you help me play this role? I promise this story will have a happy ending.”

If their families wouldn't let them be together, what if they took the position of family head themselves?
