Tracking Clues on a Foggy Night

Synopsis of "Tracks in the Foggy Night"

While investigating an antique smuggling case, retired police officer Lu Chenzhou rescues Su Nian, a street singer, on a rainy night. He discovers that the pendant she wears is a key clue in the case. He turns Su Nian into a popular singer, but his possessive obsession leads him to deliberately ruin her reputation so he can keep her by his side.

The mastermind behind the smuggling ring takes the opportunity to kidnap Su Nian and steal the pendant. Lu Chenzhou risks his life to save her and tells her the whole truth: he first approached her because of the clue, but he had long since fallen for her. He hurt her before because he was afraid of losing her. After they reconcile, Lu Chenzhou cracks the case and lets go of his need to control her, wholeheartedly supporting Su Nian’s musical dreams. In the end, they stay together and walk into the light.
