It begins in high school, when Xi Yu witnesses an inconspicuous girl who confessed to him get hit by a car and die on the spot. Little by little, he changes from an outgoing, sunny boy into a gloomy corporate drone. One day, after repeatedly feeling strange discomfort in his abdomen, he assumes there’s something wrong with his stomach. But when he checks himself, he discovers that an unwelcome guest has long been living inside his body.
Perhaps from that day on, he became this uninvited guest’s “mother,” teacher, friend, and lover, helping her transform from a lump of unknown black flesh into a humanoid monster.
