From the Start, She Rescued a Dying Assassin by Mistake, and He Offered His Life as Her Betrothal Gift

Ling Shuangyue, the aloof elder of Medicine Immortal Valley who kept herself apart from worldly affairs, rescued a mysterious woman on the verge of death on a snowy night. Out of a physician's compassion, she did not probe into the woman's identity. Little did she know that the woman was Mo Wuyun, the top assassin of the Netherworld Hall, a killers' guild feared throughout the martial world. Mo Wuyun was afflicted with the bizarre Soul-Erosion Curse. Though powerful, she was destined to die before the age of thirty, and every use of forbidden arts shortened her life. After being rescued, the taciturn assassin chose to become Ling Shuangyue's shadow, silently clearing away every obstacle in her path.

Ling Shuangyue's hypocritical junior sister was jealous of her status and talent. She repeatedly plotted against her, colluding with outside enemies in an attempt to kill her. Again and again, Mo Wuyun secretly took wounds to protect Ling Shuangyue, shielding her from every overt and covert attack. As they spent their days together and faced life-and-death crises, their feelings gradually deepened. When Ling Shuangyue resolved to defy fate and find a way to break Mo Wuyun's curse, she discovered that it was linked to the legendary Heavenly Tribulation. The day the curse was broken would be the day Mo Wuyun's body and soul were destroyed. At last, during the martial arts tournament, the junior sister's plot was exposed and Mo Wuyun's identity made public. The Netherworld Hall and the righteous factions alike turned against them. To keep Ling Shuangyue safe, Mo Wuyun did not hesitate to summon the final Heavenly Tribulation, while Ling Shuangyue used her own heart's blood as a catalyst, vowing to fight Heaven for her lover's life and compose a desperate love song between a physician and an assassin.
