My Wife Spent Eighteen Hours in Surgery to Save Me, So I Divorced Her

A car accident left me with severe brain injuries and on the brink of death.

My wife, hailed as a medical miracle worker, personally operated on me for eighteen straight hours and snatched me back from the jaws of death.

But the first thing I said to her when I woke up was, “Lu Xinyu, I want a divorce.”

Her eyes reddened. “A Yu, I just dragged you back from the gates of hell, and now you want to divorce me?”

“Is this because I’m busy with work at the hospital and don’t have time to spend with you?”

I frowned. “I want a divorce precisely because you saved me. I’m doing this so you can live up to your reputation as a medical miracle worker.”

The elders around us tried to talk me out of it. “Xinyu is such a wonderful wife. She takes care of the family and loves you. Why insist on getting a divorce? Have you forgotten how good your life is?”

Whoever tried to persuade me, I brushed them off with the same reply: “If you think she’s so wonderful, then once I divorce her, she’ll be all yours.”

One of the elders was so furious they fainted. “Fine, get divorced! Just don’t you dare regret it later!”

I murmured, “Regret it? I regret not divorcing her sooner.”
