The Vast World of the Five Elements

In ancient times, when the goddess Nuwa mended the heavens, a teardrop of her blood (Ouyang Jinxia), a strand of her hair (Shangguan Bingmu), a wisp of her obsession (the spirit of Sikong Shui), a snake scale (Tu’er Jiji), and one of the colored stones she used to mend the sky (Dugu Huohuo) were accidentally left behind in a parallel realm between heaven and earth. Absorbing the spiritual energy of the world, they eventually took human form and underwent countless trials in that realm. Wherever they went, they solved one strange case after another and saved the people from danger, ultimately becoming the Five Guardian Deities who succeeded the reclusive immortals Guiyin, Lingyin, Wuyin, Shiyin, and Fuyin.
