1938 Shanghai Underground Party: Undercurrent

In 1938, Shanghai was in the "isolated island" period under Japanese occupation. The areas outside the public concession and the French Concession were tightly controlled by the Japanese army. The Japanese special agencies, the Wang Puppet regime, the military command, and the underground party of the Communist Party of China were intertwined here. The streets were filled with Japanese military sentries, and the material blockade intensified. The citizens lived in fear and depression. The underground party of the Communist Party of China had to carry out intelligence transmission and anti-Japanese activities under heavy supervision.
