Lin Wan, a modern business student, traveled through time and became the daughter of a Shanghai industrialist in 1925. Faced with the crisis that her family's textile factory was squeezed by foreign goods and on the verge of bankruptcy, she introduced assembly line production, designed new printed fabrics, and joined forces with other ethnic entrepreneurs to boycott foreign goods. In the process, she met Chen Mo, a patriotic student, who helped her organize a workers' strike to resist the suppression of foreign businessmen. The two of them wrote a love chapter in the troubled times of the Republic of China in the ideal of "industry saving the country."
