A Modern Chinese Medicine Doctor’s Guide to Exorcising the Strange

Li Ting: Male, 30. On the surface, he is an ordinary general practitioner, with a focus on traditional Chinese medicine, at the Hewan Town Health Center. Reserved and composed, he is highly observant and meticulous, with a touch of melancholy that may stem from unrecognized talent or his family history. He is not sociable, but he is kindhearted and dedicated to his patients. With a profound family tradition of five generations of practitioners, he has an exceptionally deep understanding of and practical ability in traditional Chinese medicine, herbal medicine, acupuncture, and the related theories of the I Ching. He is especially skilled at spotting clues others overlook, whether in subtle physical symptoms, the properties of herbs, or even the flow of feng shui energy. He first becomes involved in a case by chance, perhaps after noticing unusual physical signs in a victim, or being called to the scene to urgently confirm a death. He later becomes a “special consultant” to the police.
