The Netherworld Files: I Solve Cases with Spirit Eyes

Lin Feng looks down at the pen he just accidentally snapped in his hand, then at the case file box that was just delivered to his desk for archiving. It’s the very case that left him “stuck” here: an unsolved mystery ruled a suicide, case number 737.

As if in a trance, he reaches out and opens the long-sealed box.

Inside are crime scene photos, interview transcripts, and an old silver pendant in an evidence bag. Apparently, the deceased had been clutching it when she died.

The crime scene in the photos is spotless, almost too spotless. A young woman lies on the floor of her apartment, her expression peaceful, as if she were asleep, save for the glaring slash on her wrist.

Every piece of evidence points to suicide.

But even back then, Lin Feng felt something was wrong, an indefinable sense that something didn’t fit. He argued with his superiors and insisted on investigating further, and then… nothing.

He picks up the evidence bag and rubs the cold pendant through the plastic. Its design is strange, like an abstract eye, and it radiates an indescribable aura of evil.

Just then

Bzzzt!

A sudden chill races up Lin Feng’s spine, and the light in front of him seems to flicker for the briefest moment.

He shakes his head, thinking it’s a side effect of staying up all night.

But the next second, the pendant in his hand seems to come alive. A bone-deep cold shoots from his fingertips straight into his brain!

“Ahhh!”

A woman’s scream, shrill with sheer terror, erupts in his mind without warning!

The scene before his eyes changes in an instant.
