Looking for Stories About Overseas Chinese Returning Home to Find Their Families. Male or Female Leads Are Fine, as Long as They’re Powerful, Wealthy, and Scheming
I don't care too much whether the protagonist is good or bad. I'm looking for a book where they gradually rise in status in a poor era by using a System sign-in feature or something like that ^_^

"Shadow in Shanghai" is my affectionate inquiry into history and destiny. The story begins in the "isolated island" Shanghai in 1938, allowing a soul from the future to fall into it. The protagonist Chen Yan, carrying modern memories and knowledge, struggles to survive among neon lights and gunpowder smoke. His confusion and growth are the epitome of countless individuals of that era. What I am trying to depict is not only the treacherous clouds and hail of bullets in spy wars, but also the subtlety and sparkle of human nature under the crushing power of the great era. Whether it is the protagonist's wandering between loyalty and traitor, or the beliefs and struggles of the supporting characters walking in the shadows, I strive to give them a real warmth.
From Chapter 1 to Chapter 81 so far, the overall impression is okay. But I don't know if it's a matter of the author's personal writing habits. Almost every chapter ends with a concluding description. The content without exception emphasizes how dangerous the current situation is, being involved in a larger whirlpool, and making the future direction even more unpredictable. Personally, I think it has actually affected the perception a lot. First of all, the overall atmosphere creation is in place. From the first chapter, you can see that the protagonist is dancing on three eggs. You should be able to have a relatively clear understanding of the protagonist's environment. Therefore, the repeated narration at the end of each chapter seems very redundant. And because the description is biased toward summary and conclusion, there is an obvious sense of fragmentation when reading the next chapter after reading this chapter. So give it four stars first.
The author's level exceeds 99% of the Tomato authors and is worth updating.
The writing is good and well written, this is like a spy war, real! The pattern can be bigger. Travelers know a lot of history and can provide a lot of top-secret information!
I support all novels about fighting Japanese invaders. If the protagonist has a problem, I want to read a fun novel. Hey
A very real life of a hidden person
The pace is a bit slow at first, but becomes more exciting as you go on. It is indeed different from other time-travel novels, somewhat interesting and worth pursuing.
Very good, not too big in appearance, more realistic
It's so beautiful, not bad, not bad
It's very interesting, but the ending of Little Loach makes me sad. It's so pitiful.
