A Kasaya in the Mortal World: A Buddha’s Heart Bound by Palace Walls

Princess Yongning is sent to a royal temple to pray for three years as part of a political plot, where she meets Xuanming, the Buddhist successor who guards the temple. As they spend day after day together, feelings quietly grow between them, but the shackles of their identities and the demands of their faith leave them torn and miserable. When the dynasty falls into turmoil and conspiracies come to light, their love becomes the center of a maelstrom of power. In the end, one chooses to enter the mortal world and never look back, while the other remains forever locked in the pagoda, praying for the people’s welfare.
