"Autumn Dreams in the Palace of Shu" takes the perspective of Liu Chan, the empress of the Shu Han Dynasty, and weaves a story that combines history and Taoist fantasy.
As autumn begins to grow in Chengdu, the Shu Han's spirit seems to have come to an end. As a monarch, Liu Chan encountered the old Taoist Xuan Guzi from Qingcheng Mountain between the laziness of Tai Chi Hall and the pressure of reality. The old Taoist brought tortoise shells, silk scripts and mysterious Taoism to reveal the deep connection between the rise and fall of the Shu Han Dynasty, the earth's energy, and the gathering and dispersion of people's hearts. The sapphire tripod left by the former lord not only locked the aura of Bashu, but also reflected the heavenly cycle of dynasty changes.
From the cinnamon in Chengdu to the wind and frost of Luoyang Road, from the calm sent by the letter to the osmanthus in Anle Palace, Liu Chan embarked on a journey with the sapphire tripod. In the enlightenment of Xuan Guzi and the flow of world affairs, he gradually understood the true meaning of "Heaven and earth are unkind, and treat all things as stupid dogs": dynasties rise and fall, just like flowers blooming and falling, and true "freedom" lies in seeing through the appearance of rise and fall and complying with the natural principles of heaven and earth. The story uses fantasy to outline a life attitude for this controversial monarch that transcends secular evaluation and is in harmony with Tao.
