In Tianjin in 1935, the cold wind carried dust on the streets, and also touched the hearts of a group of young students on the Nankai campus. Lu Wenzhou originally just wanted to study hard and escape from poverty, but in an accident he witnessed the violent suppression of student representatives by the police. With the arrival of an anonymous letter, he is involved in a secret student organization about faith and betrayal, ideals and sacrifices. With his family broken and his teachers and friends separated, he had to change from a bystander to a leader, shuttling between dark alleys and lecture halls, using his pen as a sword and words as a shield to ignite the spark of resistance in the cracks of the times. A scholar has no power, but he has passion; a poor family has no way out, but he has faith. He wants to find a way to save the country in this troubled world.
