A Boy Hears the Snow, an Old Friend's Spear

[Not a wish-fulfillment story] [No System]

This martial world is too old, and owes too many debts.

Gu Changsheng is a socially anxious young man who only wants to quietly clean his gun in Peach Blossom Town. His unreliable master, Shen Fang, sells him to the legendary Listening Snow City under the pretext of “paying off a debt.” The price is thirty years of his youth and a blood-red wager.

Listening Snow City is the most glamorous place in the world, and also its biggest den of debt collectors. Gu Changsheng's spear is called “Old Friend.” Every drop of blood that touches the copper coins on its tassel calls in an old debt. If the debt goes unpaid, the spear devours its master.

“Brat,” Shen Fang slurred, shoving an empty wine jug into his arms. “Keep an eye on this glamorous world for me.”

Gu Changsheng gripped the scorching spear, “Old Friend,” and pointed its tip at the inverted Heavenly Gate. The snowstorm behind him burned like a raging flame.

“This debt? I refuse to acknowledge it. Shut that gate tight!”
