Starlight Fills His Desk

During the back-to-school rush for library seats, Lin Xiaoxing, a sophomore in the literature department, accidentally takes Jiang Xubai's notebook. He's a junior in the physics department. When she returns it, she bumps into his arms, and the starry-sky sketches tucked inside make her heart flutter. They sign up for the same general education course, Film Appreciation. Jiang Xubai always sits diagonally behind Lin Xiaoxing, quietly saving her a seat and handing her a dry pen refill. Lin Xiaoxing notices that Jiang Xubai goes to the track every evening to practice guitar, and secretly writes about it in her journal. Lin Xiaoxing's club holds an essay contest. At his friend's urging, Jiang Xubai submits an entry. When Lin Xiaoxing sees it, her cheeks flush, and she takes the initiative to discuss his essay with him. The two arrange their first one-on-one meeting at a campus café. At the club fair on Halloween, Lin Xiaoxing dresses as a little witch and nearly falls. Jiang Xubai catches her just in time, and she notices the star bracelet on his wrist. For the first time, Jiang Xubai tells someone the story behind it, bringing them closer.
