Nezha and Ao Bing: Thunder from Heaven, Fire from Earth

Three thousand years ago, during the first War to Split the Heavens, Ao Bing was cast by the Celestial Court into the Eighteen Levels of Hell.

Nezha’s soul was also imprisoned in the Void, where it was scorched by golden flames.

At Taiyi Zhenren’s plea, the Celestial Worthy of the Primordial Beginning agreed that after three thousand years of burning in the golden flames, Nezha could be reincarnated and live one final life as a mortal.

Ao Bing fought his way up through every level of Hell over the course of three thousand years. At last, he reached the human world and found Li Nezha.

By then, Li Nezha was still an awkward, rebellious teenager, unaware of the great mission he was about to shoulder.
