On her quest to break the curse, she becomes Hogwarts’ “unexpected complication.” Harry’s eyes keep following her, Malfoy awkwardly drops his airs to win her favor, the Weasley Twins pull pranks just to make her laugh, and even Sirius sees this “rebellious Lestrange” in a new light.
Most unexpected of all is Snape. A brief return to the Marauders’ era entangles her with the young Severus, casting an even deeper shadow over his adult self. Yet the eyes beneath those black robes have somehow lost their usual chill whenever they look at her.
When the curse is finally broken, Lilith is bewildered. What happened to the promised “curse-induced attraction”? Why are all these people still chasing after her?
