The protagonist Lin Tian accidentally dies/travels through modern society and is bound to the "underworld temporary worker system". The system tells you that you need to enter various Hong Kong horror worlds to complete tasks and accumulate "virtue" and "performance" before you can be resurrected, become a full-time employee, or even be promoted. The first world is the entry-level "Mountain Village Old Corpse".
