Bad dog x office worker
In his twenty-two years, Jiang He had never been in a fight until the day he saved a child. He even ended up at the police station for it.
He thought they would never see each other again, but the child insisted on seeing him. With no other choice, Jiang He went to visit.
The child kept pestering him until Jiang He became his brother in name.
And so Jiang He worked diligently as an office worker by day and pored over recipes by night, coming up with something new to feed the child every day. Before long, the child had grown plump and rosy-cheeked.
Three months later, the child had recovered. The sun was shining on the day he was discharged, and Jiang He came in with a lovingly prepared lunch, only to find the bed empty.
The child had run away without even leaving a note.
Jiang He said nothing. He tossed the lunchbox into the trash and left the city.
Three years later, just as Jiang He turned into a narrow alley, a hand grabbed his ankle. A ghostly voice called out, “Ge, I missed you so much.”
Expressionless, Jiang He kicked away the person lying there, barely alive, brushed off his trouser leg, and walked away.
“What mad dog is this? Get lost.”
