From 1937 to 1945, the Wutai Mountain area in Shanxi Province became one of the core areas of the Shanxi-Chahar-Hebei anti-Japanese base area. The 115th Division of the Eighth Route Army, Shanxi-Chahar-Hebei Military Region, local guerrillas, anti-Japanese armed monks, Japanese troops stationed in Mongolia, puppet troops, traitors, bandits, and church forces were intertwined into a complex war network. Wutai is not only a sacred place for Buddhism, but also the hidden heart of the Anti-Japanese War in North China. It was highly praised until the end of the War to Resist U. S. Aggression and Aid Korea.
