Little Xizi Causes a Ruckus in Journey to the West, Eating Her Way to Spirit Mountain

On Tang Sanzang’s journey west to fetch the scriptures, a little girl named Xizi joins him, setting them on a very different pilgrimage. After subduing Zhu Bajie, they make him roast pig ears to satisfy Xizi’s appetite. Zhen Yuanzi, the ancestor of the Earth Immortals at Wuzhuang Temple, personally offers ginseng fruit for Xizi to sample and review. When they encounter the White Bone Demon, Sun Wukong hasn’t even had time to see through her disguise with his fiery golden eyes before she breaks off her own ribs, sets a pot over the fire, and stews them herself as a dish for Xizi. Even the Bull Demon King willingly cuts off a piece of his own shank and serves it at Xizi’s table. The Nine-Headed Lion is a big deal?
