In a near-future world where history can be modified by invading other people's memory gaps, a top "memory coder" accidentally discovered a memory that should not have existed during a routine mission, and was thus involved in a huge conspiracy that could subvert the real world.
1. Main characters
Chen Xing (male protagonist, 28 years old): Codenamed "Ghost", he is the top memory coder in the industry. He is calm, cautious, and suffers from a mild empathic disorder, which allows him to perform tasks efficiently without being disturbed by the target's emotions. He became a coder to repay a huge debt and find clues about his missing sister.
Ling Yue (female protagonist, 26 years old): A mysterious data broker with the network ID "Minerva". Highly skilled and well-informed, walking in the gray area. She holds some fragmentary information about the truth about the "time slot", and takes the initiative to find Chen Xing and become his unreliable ally.
"Boss" (villain, age unknown): Memory editing service intermediary, Chen Xing's contact person. Cold and utilitarian, there seems to be a greater power behind it.
Dr. Lu (key figure, around 60 years old): One of the theoretical founders of "time slot" technology, now living in seclusion, feeling fear and regret over the abuse of technology.
Chen Xi (Chen Xing's younger sister, 22 years old): disappeared mysteriously three years ago, and was officially recorded as an accident. Her disappearance is Chen Xing's biggest motivation and obsession deep in his heart.
