Terminally Ill Live-In Son-in-Law: From the Start, I Take the Sleeping CEO by the Hand

Su Xingchen, a 22-year-old with terminal liver cancer, has just six months to live. After giving up on treatment, he posts a shocking marriage ad at a park matchmaking corner: he’s looking for a woman with a terminal illness to be his “deathbed wife,” not for true love, but to experience the “pain of love” and the “joy of life” before he dies! The ad brings an angry mob of grandpas and grannies calling him a “scammer.” Then, in a sudden twist, the matriarch of the wealthy Luo family takes a liking to him and brings him home, making him the “temporary husband” of her daughter, Luo Siyu: a former fitness influencer, a 32-year-old icy CEO who has fallen into an unexplained coma and has only three months to live. A monthly salary of 100,000, a mansion to live in, and a supplementary card with a 200,000 limit: has end-of-life care suddenly turned him into a winner in life?

The dutiful “caregiver” Su Xingchen immediately launches his “scientific awakening plan”: massages, hand-holding, a barrage of sweet nothings, and even a request for a bigger bed for “immersive companionship”! His inner monologue is going wild: “Legally married! Gorgeous wife! What a steal!” But one strange incident follows another. Luo Siyu sleepwalks to the bathroom in the middle of the night, then gets back into bed on her own? Every time Su Xingchen touches her, the electrocardiogram monitor shows bizarre fluctuations?

On the surface, it’s an absurd contract between a poor nobody and an unconscious heiress, but beneath it, undercurrents are swirling. In Luo Siyu’s “undying” body, Su Xingchen discovers a glimmer of hope and regains his will to live. Deep in the consciousness of the “vegetative” Luo Siyu, his clumsy yet fervent “awakening campaign” stirs something, too. Secrets behind the wealthy family and the truth about Luo Siyu’s coma hang over them like shadows. Can the hilarious daily life of these “temporary spouses,” who move from “getting what they want” to saving each other, really turn the tide against the reaper?
