(This was supposed to be a tragic romance, but the ending went completely off the rails. I even changed the synopsis.)
Undercover agent Chen Yan investigates Shen Yi's gray-market dealings, only to fall for his engraved fountain pen and the braised pork at his old home!
With the ledger in hand, Chen Yan is torn between duty and his feelings, and panics. When the verdict is read, Shen Yi is sentenced to five years in prison plus one year of probation. He says only, “Wait for me.” Red-eyed, Chen Yan replies, “I'll wait for you at the bookstore.”
During probation, Shen Yi plants sunflowers; in prison, he sends letters home. Five years later, they reunite on a snowy night. Later, they travel to Switzerland to see the snow-covered mountains, wearing rings engraved with “Yi Yan.” Every trial they endured was just to hold on to each other for the rest of their lives!
