In the neon-corrupted cyber city, memories have become a commodity that can be sold, but they also hide fatal truths. Top hacker Lin Yin (a company abandoner with a broken body) makes a living by cracking encrypted memories. During a black market transaction, he accidentally read an echo of a bloody "Wedding Massacre". The victim actually had a similar face to his missing sister.
In order to pursue clues, Lin Yin forms an alliance with Su Rui (Broken Rebel), an investigative reporter who is terminally ill but is determined to expose the conspiracy of the system. The two are trapped in the "echo trap" that distorts time and space, and are endlessly hunted by "scavengers" sponsored by the company.
Lin Yin's hidden prosthetic weapon gradually awakens, but Su Rui's consciousness continues to become transparent due to system erosion.
