Chronicles of the Imperial Peace of Taiwan (Free Public Edition Book)

In the fifty-third year of Qianlong's reign in the Qing Dynasty (1788), it was compiled under the order of Emperor Gaozong. At the end of the 51st year of Qianlong's reign, the massive Lin Shuangwen Uprising broke out in Changhua, Taiwan and other places. This was also an unprecedented armed anti-Qing struggle in the history of the Tiandihui, which greatly shocked the ruling class of the Qing Dynasty. The limit of this book is: from the beginning of the Lin Shuangwen Uprising in Taiwan, reported by Chang Qing, the governor of Fujian and Zhejiang, on December 27, the fifty-first year of Qianlong's reign, to the end of the Qing government's identification of "treasonous properties" (that is, the Qing government's suppression of the uprising and the seizure of the property of the rebels) on December 8, the fifty-third year of the Qianlong reign, and the conclusion of the regulations. Based on a large amount of archival materials, this book gives a more realistic, comprehensive and specific account of the occurrence, development and failure of Lin Shuangwen's uprising against the Qing Dynasty, the relationship between this uprising and the Tiandihui, and the principles, policies, military deployment and aftermath measures adopted by the Qing government to suppress the uprising. It is an important history book for studying the history of Lin Shuangwen's uprising and the Tiandihui. The book has seventy volumes in total, including the first five volumes. The first five volumes contain the edicts, critical memorials, imperial poems, etc. Of Emperor Gaozong of the Qing Dynasty regarding the suppression of this uprising. The book was later included in the "Sikuquanshu" compiled by Ji Yun and others.
