Strategies for Pingding the Three Countermeasures (Free Public Edition Book)

Thematic history book. Le Dehong was the Minister of Rites of the Kangxi Dynasty and a bachelor of Wuying Palace. In the early Qing Dynasty, the Ming Dynasty's surrendered generals Wu Sangui, Shang Kexi, and Geng Jingzhong were granted vassal status in Yunnan, Guangdong, and Fujian respectively for their meritorious service in the Qing Dynasty's unification of the world, and were called the Three Feudatories. Each of them had heavy troops, occupied several provinces, and became domineering, forming three powerful local separatist forces, posing a serious threat to the rule of the Qing Dynasty. In the twelfth year of Kangxi (1673), the three vassals successively raised their troops to rebel against the Qing Dynasty. After eight years of war, in October 2020, the Qing army besieged the capital of Yunnan Province in several directions. Wu Sangui (who died five years ago) and Sun Shiyang had no way out and were forced to commit suicide. The San Francisco rebellion was finally put down. The following year, Le Dehong and others followed the imperial edict of the Holy Ancestor and compiled the sixty-volume "Strategy for Pingding the Three Rebellions", which was completed in twenty-five years. This book begins in March of the twelfth year of Kangxi's reign when Pingnan King Shang Kexishu asked to withdraw his troops, and ends in December of the twentieth year when the Holy Ancestor "defied the invaders and defeated them, and issued an edict to pardon the world." It details and specifically describes the beginning and end of the Qing court's suppression of the rebellions of Wu Sangui, Shang Zhixin (Shang Kexi's son), and Geng Jingzhong. During the Qianlong reign, this book was included in the "Sikuquanshu". The Forbidden City Museum in Beijing and the First Historical Archives of China have a condensed version. It can be used as a reference for research on the Kangxi Dynasty.
