An accident traps Chen Mo, an ordinary librarian, in a bizarre time loop. Every day, he wakes up at six in the morning on September 5. The sun rises, the city comes to life, and everything seems normal. Only he clearly remembers every detail of the day before, the day before that, and even much earlier days, including trivial things that should have been forgotten... and deaths that happened in secret.
He doesn’t remember how he got caught in this loop, and he has no idea how to escape. Every time he dies, a mysterious black fragment merges into his body, bringing a feeling that is impossible to describe, at once painful and strangely powerful. Is it a curse or a blessing?
To break free of his fate, Chen Mo is forced to make use of the “foresight” the loop gives him, embarking on a difficult journey of survival and discovery. He learns things he has never studied, masters astonishing skills, and tries to prevent the tragedies he has foreseen, all while investigating the truth behind the loop.
As time passes, however, he discovers that beneath this seemingly ordinary modern city lie secrets beyond anything he imagined. A lost ancient civilization, technological creations far ahead of their time, mysterious supernatural phenomena, and a vast, secretive organization are all stirring beneath the shadow of the loop.
Every choice Chen Mo makes could set off a butterfly effect and change the course of the world. He must not only fight unknown dangers, but also face the mental torment and moral dilemmas brought on by the loop itself. As the outlines of the truth gradually emerge, he realizes that what he must face may be more than just breaking a loop: he may have to choose an entirely different future.
