At the end of the Holy Grail War, Illyasviel von Einzbern was killed by the Heroic King Gilgamesh, who tore out her heart and took the Holy Grail. But at the moment of her death, the power of the Grail within her hurled her into a peaceful parallel world. Her consciousness overwrote that world's “Illya,” who was about to take part in her first magical-girl battle. Amid the agony, the proof of her past life as the Lesser Grail appeared: Command Seals covering her entire body. To the astonishment of Rin Tohsaka, Luviagelita Edelfelt, and Miyu Edelfelt, the other chosen girl, Illya used her blood to draw a summoning circle that should never have existed in this world. A Berserker from the Throne of Heroes answered the call! When the hero of myth cut down the shadows and she obtained her first Class Card (Rider), the gears of fate had already veered completely off course. Bearing the destinies of two worlds and caught between her identities as a magical girl and a vessel for the Holy Grail, Illya begins her journey!
