The cycle of eras turns, and another calamity begins. Ancestor Hong Yun perishes, his Dao extinguished. One fragment of his true spirit should have been erased by the Heavenly Dao’s machinations, but it is sheltered by the one that slipped away, allowing him to glimpse a chance at transcendence amid utter silence.

He sheds his old shell and realizes that all things are illusory, and only power is eternal! He traces back to time immemorial, overwrites his true spirit, and reforges the supreme foundation of his Dao!

From that moment on, the world has no more kindly old Ancestor Hong Yun. There is only a Daoist known by the title Taichu, bearing a Taiyi Dao Seed and walking the Primordial World. He worships no Heavenly Dao, cultivates no merits, and severs none of the Three Corpses. He asks only his own heart and seeks only to prove his own Dao!

In the Zixiao Palace, he smiles and yields his seat while secretly seizing an innate spiritual root. Amid the calamity, he enters the fray of his own accord to secure the resources he needs to attain the Dao. The Saints see him as a chess piece, never realizing that they, too, are part of the game. He follows Heaven’s will only so he can ultimately sever all karmic ties and fulfill the true Dao of Chixiao.

When the truth behind Pangu’s creation of the world is revealed, when Hongjun’s private motives for merging with the Dao come to light, and when the ultimate fate of the Primordial World points toward that eternal shore...

Chixiao stands above all the heavens and says calmly, “You fight for the Heavenly Dao’s holy seats. I seek the one true Great Dao. The rise and fall of this world, the fortunes of all living beings, are merely scenes that let me verify the path of Taiyi.”
