A Chance Meeting by the Library Vending Machine

As a first-year student, Yi Wei meets Fang Yi'an at a vending machine in the library. He is about to leave for graduate studies in the United States, and they fall for each other at first sight. But with his future uncertain, Fang Yi'an makes no promises before he leaves. Heartbroken, Yi Wei resolves to follow him to Boston. Three years later, Yi Wei goes to study in the United States. When Fang Yi'an learns that she is there, he does everything he can to meet her and pursues her relentlessly. By then, however, after everything she has been through, Yi Wei has grown more mature in her understanding of family, friendship, and love, and has a clearer sense of what she wants to strive for in life. True striving begins with refusing to waste time. Mature love comes from steadfastly supporting each other, sharing a vision of weathering every storm together, and having the courage not to depend on one another. Years later, Yi Wei is an executive at a multinational corporation. When she revisits the university library and sees diligent students studying, she is moved by the purity and sincerity of youthful feelings. By lamplight, whose heartbreak do I write of? Such small affairs of the heart are always hard to fulfill. In this life, read ten thousand books, travel ten thousand miles, meet people and experience life, and see the sights of every corner of the world. Here's to you, brave and clever, never wasting your youth!
