Shangguan Hong used to be a librarian at S University. She suffered a mental breakdown after being frightened, and she had also read Ghost Lantern before her illness began.
When I visited Shangguan Hong, she gave me a note that read, “The deaths begin with the Lantern Riddle Gathering.” Sure enough, a series of deaths began after the gathering! As a criminal investigation student, I began looking into the case after this incident, with help from my good friend Du Tao. But the terrifying events were like a bottomless abyss, drawing Du Tao and me in so deeply that we couldn’t escape. As we pieced together the clues, we uncovered the tangled grudges between two generations, the darkness of human nature, and a shocking secret hidden behind the conspiracy: the Heart Lantern Manual. In the end, I obtained the legendary manual through my grandfather and set out on a perilous quest to uncover its mysteries. After bizarre and terrifying ordeals, and trials of life and death, we finally found the Devil’s Eye. But the story was far from over...
