Who Says a Spoiled Scion Can't Be the Male Lead?

Xiao Zhiyan, heir to the Marquis of Zhenguo’s household, was often praised by the common folk for his handsome looks. But they would soon shake their heads and sigh. He was a notorious wastrel, spending his days loafing around, gambling and chasing after dogs instead of bettering himself. Even the officials at court sighed whenever his name came up. His mother was also a famously fierce woman, known as a “tiger wife.” Everyone steered clear of Xiao Zhiyan, afraid she might come knocking to beat them up.

Xiao Zhiyan: …I’m scared of her too, you know.

Growing up in such a “high-pressure” environment, Xiao Zhiyan dreamed of marrying a gentle, considerate wife, not living like his father, who got beaten whenever he displeased his mother. o(╥﹏╥)o

Meanwhile, the mighty General Weilin’s household was also a source of amazement among the common folk: a good bamboo shoot from a crooked stalk. The Great General Weilin was famous for preferring to settle things with his fists rather than words. Yet this general’s household had produced a great female scholar renowned throughout the capital. So when news spread that the Marquis of Zhenguo’s household was arranging a marriage with the Great General Weilin, everyone sighed that a beautiful flower had been planted in cow dung.

Xiao Zhiyan: …

Before the wedding:

Xiao Zhiyan: “I don’t like being bossed around after we’re married. Men don’t like clingy women.” (*￣︶￣)

After the wedding:

Xiao Zhiyan: “Wife, save me! Wife, where are you?!”
