The author has something to say
When I wrote the last word of "Two Foxes Protecting the Pulse", the lights and shadows by the Lingmai Spring seemed to be still flickering in front of my eyes - Ah Jiu holding up the Lingmao cake and smiling, Qingwu's back holding the staff as she fought, the fox inkstone leaning against the Lingmai Gate to wipe the fox's shadow tenderly, and Maoqiu holding the Lingcao crown in a daze, all seemed like scenes that had really existed.
When I first started writing, I just wanted to write a "guarding" story, but I didn't expect that these characters would gradually develop their own "obsession": Ah Jiu's obsession is "the spiritual vein cannot be destroyed, and the sister cannot be hurt," so she is willing to sacrifice; Qing Wu Yan's obsession is to "see all the mountains and rivers for her sister", so she chooses to walk alone; Hu Yan's obsession is to "keep their home safe", so she spends her life watching; even Maoqiu's obsession is to "wait for the little girl who calls my name to come back".
Someone asked, why let Ajiu disappear in a blur, let Qingnu leave decisively, and let Hu Yan stay until he grows old? Maybe it's because not all guardians have a happy ending, and not all farewells can say "goodbye" clearly. But those unspoken concerns will turn into the shadow of the fox on the spiritual vein gate, the spiritual lamp beside the spiritual vein spring, and become the story passed down from generation to generation among the people of the tribe - just like Hu Yan said, "As long as the spiritual vein is still there, they will always be together."
Finally, I would like to say something through Maoqiu's eyes: Maybe one day, the fox shadow of the spiritual vein gate will move, maybe Qingwu will come back with the peach petals from the human world, or maybe Ah Jiu will just change his way of guarding the spiritual veins. But no matter whether there is such a day or not, those lives that have been fought for protection and the thoughts left for each other have become the warmest light in Kunlun.
Thank you to everyone who is willing to step into this story, and thank you to Ah Jiu, Qing Wu, Hu Yan and Mao Qiu for accompanying me through this journey of "guarding and watching".
