A tragic epic that begins with ideals and ends in blood and fire, a tragedy in troubled times where power, faith and humanity are intertwined.
In the middle of the 19th century, the Qing court was decadent, foreign invasions were frequent, and people's livelihood was in decline. Hong Xiuquan, a native of Guangdong, failed to succeed in many trials. He had a vision of a strange dream during his illness and claimed to be the "second son of God". He then founded the "God Worship Association" and held the ideal banner of "having fields to cultivate together, and having rice to eat together", gathered people in Jintian Village, Guangxi, and started. The Taiping army conquered Jinling and established the capital, which they named "Tianjing". They wanted to build a heavenly kingdom on earth where "everywhere is uneven and no one is hungry and warm".
However, the lofty ideals are ultimately unable to compete with the treacherous reality. Power is about to erode his bones, and the Eastern King Yang Xiuqing seizes power through "Heavenly Father Comes Down to Earth", while the Northern King Wei Changhui endures and lies dormant until he commits a murder; the hero is sad, and the Wing King Shi Dakai's solitary loyalty is suppressed, and his soul is cut off from the Dadu River during his long-distance journey to the west; the beauty is in trouble, and the talented Fu Shanxiang (literary fiction), although talented, is trapped in the fate of the times, and it is difficult to restore the ruins of Tianjing. During this period, there are also unknown soldiers and ordinary people struggling to survive in the torrent. Their glimmers of light and sighs interweave into the most authentic background of the times.
